Meet your NEW Macaroni Kid Henderson County/Brevard publisher

By Traci Allen August 12, 2018

Howdy friends! I'm the new publisher for this site!

A little about me...I grew up in Hendersonville and attended Valley Hill/Atkinson Elementary schools, Flat Rick Jr. HIgh and East Henderson High.  My maiden name is Traci Beal.  I attended UNC-Asheville and NC State for my undergraduate studies and then the University of Georgia where I obtained my Master's Degree to become a Speech-Language Pathologist.  I lived in HIckory, NC then moved to Michigan where I did missionary work with Life Action Ministries for 2 years, seeking revival in America.  I then moved to Lancaster, PA where I continued as a missionary, reaching out to those affected by disability.  Because I have a prosthetic leg and cleft lip due to birth defects, it was my desire to help others who may be struggling to accept their differences or challenges.

After living in PA for 7 years, I moved back to Hendersonville in 2007 and got married in 2009 and moved to Brevard, land of rain, I mean, waterfalls.  (That's a joke that anyone who lives in Transylvania County will understand).

We have a small homestead farm, homeschool 3 children, ages 4, 6 and 8 and I am always on the lookout for fun family adventures, including those for kids with special needs, like my daughter, who has Down Syndrome.  That is the main reason I thought it would be fun to be a publisher for Macaroni Kid...to find fun things to do and share them with others.

Please be patient with me as I learn the ropes of this new world of internet publishing.  I am a slow learner but a willing learner.  I welcome constructive, kindly spoken criticism and if you see an error in an event or article, please contact me so I can correct it.  I'd love it if you'd submit some of your favorite family friendly activities to the website...it really helps to have others contributing events!  I especially could use input from those over in Saluda, Bat Cave, Lake Lure and Columbus.

Feel free to ntroduce yourself  and tell me what you like about the Macaroni Kid website or how it can be better!  I really do appreciate your input!

Blessings,

Traci
