Mother's Day Planning Guide!

By Dana Hall May 8, 2019

Last week I posted a Mother's Day Gift Guide and as promised here is my Mother's Day Planning Guide based on my survey results.

Number one thing mom's and grandma's want to do on Mother's day....

1.  Time with family!  I don't think any of us are shocked by this.

Saturday:

8:30am - 5:30pm:  Hiking, lunch and a wine tasting at Chimney Rock!

9am - 11pm:  Mother's Day Barn Quilt Workshop at The Market

Sunday:

8:30am - 5:30pm:  Hiking, lunch and a wine tasting at Chimney Rock!

9am - 4pm:  Mothers KidZip and Climb the Treetops for free (with paying friend/family)

2.  Eating Out!  There's a reason Mother's Day is the busiest day in the Restaurant industry - mom doesn't want to cook!  There were so many places having brunch so I listed them out by city!  I highly recommend making reservations.  Numbers to call are listed under the location for those that mentioned making them.

Lake Lure:

Reservations call 828.694.3016

3 - 5.  The last three are a tie.  Relax, sleep in and alone time.

Plan and plot with the kids (if they're old enough of course) to let mom sleep in or give her some alone time.  You can send her off for the whole day or part of it!  Book her a hotel stay for the night and she can get all three!  If a hotel stay is out of the budget create one in your home!  Clean the bedroom (get rid of any and all clutter) and bathroom (scrub that tub), fresh bedding, put together a little spa basket (face mask, nail polish, bath bomb), light a candle, place her favorite bottle of wine (or drink of choice), pile of her favorite magazines or books and tell her to call your cell when she wants to order "room service"

Here are a couple more things happening this weekend you can treat mom or grandma to!

Sunday:

12pm - 6pm:  Mother's Day Specials at Burntshirt Vineyards

12pm - 7pm:  Mother's Day "MOM"osa Celebration at Mountain Brook Vineyards

Whether you're the one planning Mother's day activities or looking for things to do hopefully this helps and feel free to comment below if anything was missed on my list!  Happy planning!
