7 Ways to Treat Dad & Support Local

Father's Day Gift Guide

By Dana Hall June 10, 2020

Father's Day is right around the corner but still plenty of time to find that perfect gift for the fathers in your life, while supporting local businesses along with options to remain safely at home!

If you're heading out please check each businesses website or call ahead for their COVID-19 safety procedures.

1.  Massage

Pampering isn't just for women, treat them with some relaxation with a gift certificate to one of these local places:

Fountain of Youth in Hendersonville

The Cosmic Grove (home of the $44 Massage and 4.6 stars from 50 reviews)

2.  Golfing

I don't know if your husband is like mine but he's become obsessed with golfing since we moved here.  I don't blame him, it's beautiful every where you look.   This is what I got Clifton this year (and last) - I don't think you can lose on this one (unless he's not into golf).  Make it even more of a surprise by gathering his friends to go with him!  Here's a few of his local favorites:

Broadmoor Golf in Fletcher

High Vista Golf in Mills River

Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure (they have two courses)

3.  Tools

Clifton uses our garage to work on projects from creating to restoring items.  He gets really excited any time he gets a new tool and other than knowing the different screwdrivers, a hammer, nails and a drill I couldn't tell you anything about the various saws and blades he has or other tools he gets giddy about.  That doesn't stop me from trying to get him something along these lines.  Two years ago I gave him $100 to spend and sent him on his way to explore.  He gets excited just going to any Hardware store, add in money to spend, I'd call it a win - check out these two local stores:

King Hardware and Equipment rental

Carolina Ace Hardware

4.  Libations

A few Birthday's ago I got my husband a beer of the month club.  This was when we lived in Dallas and not the craft beer country we live in now.  I love the idea of putting together a mixed case of local brews.  Check out these local breweries who sell cans, bottles or crawlers:

Oskar Blues in Brevard

Triskelion in Hendersonville

Sierra Nevada in Mills River

or grab it all in one place at Blue Door, downtown Hendersonville

Maybe they prefer wine - check out these local wineries and grab him a bottle or two:

Burntshirt Vineyards in Hendersonville

Point Lookout Vineyards in Hendersonville

St. Paul Mountain Vineyards in Hendersonville

Maybe pick up a steak to go with it for dinner!

5.  Outdoorsman

Head over to Mast General Store and check out their upstairs area for outdoor gear for all the hiking, camping and every thing in between, needs! They also have some great options downstairs for those who enjoy cooking/grilling!

6.  Tattoo:

Grab a gift certificate and make them an appointment to one of our local tattoo places, here's a couple:

High Caliber

The Social Club

7.  Unique Gifts

If you read my Holiday Gift Guide than you know I love shopping in downtown Hendersonville looking for the perfect gift, check out these stores I've found some great gifts for the men in my life:

Moonshine and Magnolias:  This store is fairly new and it's one of my favorites!  Head right to the back to the left and you'll see a great section all geared towards men.

Woodlands Gallery:  This store is my absolute favorite!  It's full of lots of art but take your time and look around I guarantee you'll find some gems for the father in your life!

Happy Father's Day!
