Hurricane Helene Recovery News & Resources

Hurricane recovery help and resources

By Melissa Pfaller October 5, 2024

These types of guides are not as fun to read, or prepare.  We have encountered a horrible natural disaster that many of us thought would never impact our area so great... A hurricane in the mountains. Hurricane Helene has left destruction in it's path.  Our little communities have been damaged, with some completely destroyed.  Picking up all the pieces will take time.  Some of us won't get to be there while we rebuild.  But, praying for their friends and families, we keep moving.  We can't let it break us.  We are hurting, but still here.  Life will look a little different for some, a lot different for others. So, we join hands with the ones still here.  We contribute however we can to help our beloved communities back on their feet.  I love you, North Carolina.  This is how I try to help.

This is a guide I will be updating as often as I can.  When I find new things I will be adding them, while trying to remove the things no longer relevant.  If you know of more resources, please contact me at melissap@macaronikid.com and I will try to get them added as soon as possible.  I'm including links for the resources, so please click on them to make sure the events are still happening.. in case I haven't had a chance to remove it yet.  Everything moves quickly when it comes to these types of things, so I might miss something.
